C.A.R.E. & Counseling

We offer a healing community of counsel and caregiving for members and attenders of Crossroads Church as well as for our local community. We desire to provide spiritual and emotional support, encouragement, and perspective during times of personal struggle, disappointment, spiritual doubt, and relational conflict. We seek to help people find strength in Christ through His Body, the Church.

Support and Recovery groups deal with addictions, harmful patterns, past mistakes, and hurtful family experiences. All of our groups are Christ-centered and are led by trained volunteers. Most of our groups are year round; some only meet periodically. Please call before attending.

All groups are free of charge. Some use materials that may be purchased at a minimal cost. Free childcare is available through age 12. Most groups can be entered at any time, but some require registration due to the nature of the subject matter. Many of our groups have been accepted in court-mandated cases. If you feel you could benefit from one of these areas of recovery, come and join us on any Tuesday evening.

Our Support and Care Groups are listed below. Support Groups meet on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Crossroads Campus on Hwy 154. Individual Counseling is also available.

For questions or more information, please email or call the Counseling office at 678-854-9300.

Adult Support Groups

Anger Management (Men and Women)

Anger is a tough issue to deal with, and it can affect every area of our lives. Marriage, children, work, friendships, and self-esteem can all be hurt by uncontrolled anger. This group helps define anger and helps us gain an understanding of its causes. We will also examine ways to gain control over our anger and how God can receive glory as a result. We offer separate groups for men and women.

Caregivers Support Group

Offers encouragement and support for those who bear the responsibility of providing full-time care to a loved one. This group meets in-person and on Zoom.

Chemical Dependency Group

If you suffer from addiction to one or more chemicals, the important issue is recovery — how to overcome the compulsion to drink or use. A Christ-centered, 12-step program can help you achieve a healthy and Christ-honoring lifestyle. Our group will help you discover the resources you need to accomplish these positive changes. Come experience hope and healing from the isolation, anxiety, fear, and shame that accompany chemical dependency.

DivorceCare

Sometimes it is hard to find people who understand the pain that comes along with an unwanted divorce. Everyone is affected: you, your children, your extended family, as well as your friends. It is easy for hurt to lead to anger and for anger to turn into confusion, loneliness, and fear. DivorceCare is a place to find caring people who understand your pain and want to help. It is also a place that will help you find your way toward healing and recovery.

First Place 4 Health

First Place 4 Health is a revised Christ-centered weight-loss program, emphasizing balance in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual areas of life. This new program has a simplified eating program. As we learn to keep Christ first in our lives, we will find that He is the One who satisfies our hunger and our every need. This class is closed after the second week.

GriefShare

A support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. When we lose a loved one, it is common to feel loneliness and despair. GriefShare provides a place where others will understand and offer support to each other. You do not have to grieve alone.

S.A. Group (Men's Sexual Addiction)

Today everyone is bombarded with subtle and blatant sexual messages. Many individuals have developed distorted beliefs and practices concerning sexuality. Poor family role models, sexual abuse, or being subjected to pornography at an early age can all be contributing factors. These issues may result in compulsive and addictive behaviors. Our group is designed to help you learn how to live a Christ-honoring life in a world of sexual immorality. Registration is required to protect group members’ privacy. Email or call the Counseling office at 678-854-9300 to register.
