Foster Care Ministry

Crossroads Foster Care Ministry is helping hurting children find their way to the life God created them to live! Did you know that science reports that every kid is ONE caring adult away from being a success story (Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University)? Not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can serve a foster child in some way.

We have formed Advocate Care Teams to surround the foster families in our church and help encourage and support them while they foster. We need more hands and more hearts in this endeavor. There are many ways in which you or your small group can get involved in this ministry. There are needs that will fit every gift and talent out there; from simply signing up to make a foster family a meal once a month, coming alongside the family and mentoring a foster child, or spending time loving on these children and showing them God through your love.

Foster families need TIME, so if you enjoy using your hands maybe you might want to do some easy lawn maintenance or find out if they have a project to finish. Your help could free them up for court dates, appointments or just some family time that they dearly need. Did you know that more than half of all new foster families quit within the first year because of lack of support? However, more than 99% continue to providing loving, stable homes when others come alongside them in serving our foster children!

We would love to connect with you so you can learn about the various roles of family helper, child mentor, interim caregiver and team leader. Please email us or find one of the team at a service and let us know you would like to get involved. Nothing you have to offer and no amount of time given is too small.
