C.A.R.E. & Counseling

We offer a healing community of counsel and caregiving for members and attenders of Crossroads Church, as well as for our local community. We desire to provide spiritual and emotional support, encouragement, and perspective during times of personal struggle, disappointment, spiritual doubt, and relational conflict. We seek to help people find strength in Christ through His Body, the Church.

Support and Recovery groups deal with addictions, harmful patterns, past mistakes, and hurtful family experiences. All of our groups are Christ-centered and are led by trained volunteers. Most of our groups are year round; some only meet periodically. Please call before attending.

All groups are free of charge. Some use materials that can be purchased at a minimal cost. Free childcare is available through age 12. Most groups can be entered at any time, but some require registration due to the nature of the subject matter. Many of our groups have been accepted in court-mandated cases. If you feel you could benefit from one of these areas of recovery, come and join us on any Tuesday evening.

A listing of Support and Care Groups follows below. Support Groups meet on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Hwy 154 Campus. Individual Counseling is also available.

Confident Kids

Confident Kids is designed for children who are struggling with family issues. These struggles may be the result of the divorce of parents, the death of a parent, or hurtful family relationships. Sometimes our own pain blinds us from seeing how badly our children are hurting. At other times, our pain prevents us from being capable of providing the help our children need. Please let us come alongside your family during this confusing time.

Student Support

High School Support

Many adolescents feel alone, frustrated, empty, and confused. This group is designed to offer guidance, encouragement, and hope during these difficult years.

Middle School Support

This group is designed for boys and girls grades six through eight who are struggling with family issues such as divorce, separation, anger, relationship difficulties, as well as other teenage problems. This is a safe place where students can share their hurts and receive hope and healing.

Marriage Support

One of the greatest blessings of ministry is being able to perform wedding ceremonies. Ministry also includes the difficult task of helping people overcome the heartbreak of divorce. This bittersweet experience has made us even more aware of the need for quality pre-marriage counseling. Experience has proven that you can never be too prepared for marriage.

We want to connect every engaged couple to a mature married couple for several weeks of pre-marital counseling. This setting allows for times of deep interaction, Biblical direction, and fun conversation. Not only will this couple offer pre-marriage counseling; they will also commit to a mentoring relationship for the first year of the marriage. This provides the newly married couple with a listening ear, a guiding hand, and a sounding board to help get their marriage off to a great start.

The counseling is free, but we do require each couple to take a pre-marriage inventory that will assist in the counseling process. The cost for the inventory is $35 for the couple. (Once you have completed the counseling you will receive a form to take with you when you get your marriage license that will save you $35!)

Just call the church office at 678-854-9300 or email counseling@crossroadsnewnan.org for a Wedding Packet, to sign up for pre-marriage counseling, or for more information.
